TRANSFERANTS - Medium Synopsis
The Ancients warn of something coming. A dense cityscape, a female voice rants in defence of a revolution. The lair of an androgynous YOUTH is revealed. An apartment transformed into a dark makeshift shrine. Images of Joan of Arc flare up on the television. Religious images, rose petals, and torn up dresses cover the floor. The same apartment, but now in daylight . THE GIRL enters, in a fury, which is only stopped at the memory of her boyfriend, as she finds a postcard from him in her wallet. THE GUY, her boyfriend, enters. THE GIRL gets changed for work. They argue. THE GIRL leaves. THE GUY is miserable. THE YOUTH reappears. THE GUY leaves the apartment and makes his way to his baseball game in Jersey, with his army buddies. THE YOUTH follows. THE GUY enters the bus station, and goes to the toilets. As he looks up from washing his face, a club strikes him over the head. It is THE YOUTH. He exits onto the street, and begins to run across the city. THE GUY appears, the killing was a fantasy. THE YOUTH is next seen, sleeping at the base of a statue of Abraham Lincoln. THE GIRL, back in the apartment meets her mother in her own reflection. THE MOTHER tells THE GIRL how lucky she is. THE GIRL'S love for THE GUY is reaffirmed. Finally THE YOUTH disappears from THE GIRL'S dreaming.
